<Nobody wants to make a decision on this before the elections, lest they be seen as coming up on the wrong side. Unfortunately, few of them have any real idea of what the wrong side is. Democrats would rather eat broken glass that do ANYTHING which stands a chance of making Bush look good. All in all, the longer they can put off uncomfortable decisions, the better.
It would be interesting to see what happens if we got attacked again tomorrow. Naturally, should this happen, the psychos will claim that Bush set it up to get the war fever going, since it's All About Oil.
