Were Taiwan on the Asian mainland, it would be a different story -- as well as a fantasy-world (Bowser would be able to appreciate that). As it stands, China is far, far too busy with its own internal problems, not the least of which is counting how many babies each family has and “thinning their herds,” not to mention fighting their own war on terrorism in the western provinces. Then there's all that work trying to get the U.S. to clean up the world's environment -- which China has just about destroyed.

They are a formidable force, but we're better, and they know it. Also, they're way too busy with in-house issues.
