D. S. - "Time to up the ante and take a few more Iraqi air bases down the tubes,"
Heh, heh. The other guy meets the demands as told to the UN, and you think there should still be unprovoked aggression. The essence of juvenile jingoism, on a par with "they get used to being killed", and "you just kiss ass."
"Up the ante". For what reason? You got what you said you wanted. AND, in the big kids game, you don't get to raise the stakes after the other guy folds. That's a poker convention, and only the big guys played poker. The others, who would think you could "up the ante" after a fold were not playing poker, they were playing with themselves.
That view if the US is of a completely rogue nation, one which would accuse others of bio-chemical weapons while NOT signing a convention against them.
A country which wrote the battle plans incorporating WMD for a country it not says is morally unacceptable for using them. Barbaric.
In the old US, where law and order prevailed, where the government couldn't arrest citizens and hold them forever without divulging their name, providing them with representation, or bringing them to court, in that US the person who planned the crime was as guilty as those who committed it.
RICO.
But some people are advocating the US kill simply for the sake of killing. Like the above post. Lawless, bully, kill 'em because they can, kill 'em even when they meet your demands. (You can't "take out a few more Iraqi air bases" without killing people, by the way.)
The kinda guy who would own a pit bull. Hates people, needs to feel tough. "Just kill 'em", they say. Mean motorscooters, they!!
It's a sad nation which has that sentiment in any element of their population.
Arf
(Now is the time to say you didn't say it, or didn't mean it, or I didn't understand the meaning of "up the ante and take out a few more Iraqi air bases".)

You don't, true. No idea, tragically.
