Costello dismissed suggestions that the detainees had anything to do with the disappearance.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- AP
An Ohio soldier stationed at the U.S. naval base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, has disappeared.

Army Staff Sgt. Ryan Foraker, of Logan, guarded suspected terrorists at the base.

Military officials say the 31-year-old was last seen about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday leaving his quarters at Camp America, near the Camp Delta prison where 598 detainees are held.

Army Lt. Colonel Bill Costello said Foraker's civilian shorts, T-shirt and wallet were found outside the fence of Camp America. He said there's no sign of foul play or suicide.
