This is your President. Please hum "Hail to the Chief" as you read. Thanks. Gotta show respect for the office if not the Monkey.

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 1 — ”President Bush urged West Coast longshoremen Tuesday to “get back to work,” saying the labor dispute that has shut down ports along the West Coast threatens the nation’s economy.”

(As if $200 billion for a war on Iraq wouldn't hurt what economy there will be left to hurt!)

The longshoremen you are hollering at are locked out. The longshoremen are showing up for work, and management does not allow them to go to work. This is not a strike by labor, it’s a lockout by management.

Dear George – it’s a little bit like as if the Rangers cancelled a baseball game. The Rangers say, "No game today, even though it's on the schedule."

So the Rangers do not open the stadium or locker room. Those doors are locked. The players show up to play and the Rangers won’t open the doors. There are no lights, no balls, no umpires, no nothing. Can't get at the uniforms, showers. The players are standing around outside having to scratch themselves without a camera watching.

Now, it wouldn’t make sense to yell at the players to get back in there and play, now would it? Not even to you, I'll bet, when I put it this way.

Arf (and there are some who still claim this guy has a brain – you can fool some of the people all of the time, can’t you!!)
