Re: Jerry Falwell opens mouth & removes all doubt
I'm no fan of Fallwell, but my understanding is that--as prophets go, anyway--Muhammad was extremely violent and rather intolerant.
The historical Muhammad was (from my readings, at least) a man of the sword, who laid siege and visited death upon non-beleivers by the thousands. I suppose it's possible that many of those people Muhammad murdered may well have considered themselves terrorized by this wild-eyed "messenger of God."
Maybe Fallwell could be rightly accused of poor timing, maybe of stirring a pot that really doesn't need stirring, but of bigotry?
History does not record Muhammad as a sweet guy. Do we have to revise that in order to be politically correct?
