Unless one is feeding at the government trough, directly or indirectly, it's easy to understand. And if one is, then they get frightened the government might come to it's senses.
But it doesn't get simpler:
Decrease income.
Increase expenditures.
Borrow money.
Increase the balance of payments deficit.
In a weakening economy.
Do all those things.
Recipe for financial disaster for anything. A family, company, state, nation. Anything.
It doesn't get simpler.
Sorry, Charlie, no amount of emotional reasoning, no dislike of me, no worship of The Little Monkey can change that.
And no one can rationally deny this.
No one can deny who left a legacy of surplus when inheriting a deficit. No one can deny who was the last fiscally responsible President. And claim to be rational, to have a toe in the pool of reality.
Unless they feed at the trough. Then it makes some sense they will deny it, for their own self-preservation. BUT, not even they can believe the denials. Window-dressing for the masses, hoping against hope the hemorraging will continue.
Arf (the poor people want to reason with their emotions. Doesn't work.)

Sorry, Charlie. It doesn't get simpler.
