He's not the smoothest out there, that's for sure, but it doesn't really bother me. An excess of smooth makes me wonder just how rehearsed the act is.

I get the impression (and that's all it is, of course) that if I met Bush personally, I'd like him. He seems genuine. Without making any overt political comment, I found Gore over-handled...I never got the feeling that I was seeing the "real man," but rather was watching a performer.

I also think Bush is a pretty bright guy. The allegation that he's not is simply an unfair personal attack...slung mud in the giant mud sling that is politics, I guess.
