During the debate for the California governor's election, Bill Simon threw out something about Davis being photographed illegally taking a contribution from a lobbying group. I went, "What? What the heck is this now?"
The photo:
The accusation fell through. The photo was apparently not taken in the Capitol, and Simon's campaign, having just recovered from the hit on the lawsuit, is in the ditch again with its wheels spinning.
Maybe Simon was set up. It kind of smells like it. But if he had the brains he is supposed to have, a little red light should have gone on when he saw the picture, or if he was not allowed to see the photos. Obviously, as can be seen, the photo is not one that would normally be taken by a reasonably bright governor taking an illegal contribution. And if he was not set up, and the COPS believed this smiling photo was of an illegal transaction, then how bright are THEY? And how hard can it be to set up a decent campaign against a creep like Davis?
Geez. I just may vote Libertarian again this year. Or write in Gronk.
