I was never in Germany, but my wife was. I don't recall her mentioning anything untoward, but then she's a lot darker than the average Jew -- a fact which didn't seem to bother anyone either.
Of course she also has a tendency to ignore displays of idiocy in public -- which makes me wonder how we ever got together...
