As I said, I admire Carter greatly. I just think being awarded the Peace Prize as a way of sending a message to the current president is nothing short of an insult. Why not give it to Chomsky, or Gore, or the third marching teenager from the left?

If you want to talk about petty, why not take on a Nobel Committee that has forgotten its mission, and has granted an award for purely political reasons, rather than for acheivement. I wish I was making it up, it's so absurd, but the Committe has publically acknowleged it. Carter's award isn't for him, it's against Bush. In doing this, the Committee has lost sight of its purpose.
