This was a guy I had respected for independent thinking prior to his running with Gore. Once selected as Veep he quickly repudiated all his iconoclastic (for a Dem) prior positions on tax cuts, vouchers, etc. and I realized that yet again I fell off the pumpkin truck and believed a candidate.
