IF "Moscow gas was likely an opiate", THEN - - -

<Kremlin remains silent; Russia mourns victims

IF that gas was an opiate, such as Fentanyl, THEN the Russians did screw it up, badly. There is a cheap, effective and relatively fast antidote to narcotics, naltrexone.

The on-site emergency workers should have had naltrexone available and administered it IMMEDIATELY.

Waiting for people to get to the ER, and then suffer through atropine and whatever on the way to finding out what was going on is really criminal. If the ER saved the lives of any of them, then on-site administration of naltrexone would have saves the lives of a LOT of them.

Arf (can't say I blame them for using gas, just for not caring if folks died needlessly)
