You forget.
The Republican "poll-watchers" who chanted, grabbed ballots, and generally did everything they could to keep ballots from being counted in 2000. Doing everything they could think of to keep ballots from being tallied. And, guess what??!! The Florida State Police didn't stop 'em.
Dastardly, they were. But the police must have been busy somewhere else.
Something tells me, I don't think they were trying to hamper counting Republican votes. Just don't think so. Haven't seen any research on that, but I suspect.
