The Mujahideen have carried out two strong attacks against the American military base in the region of Dahrawad in the province of Aruzaghaan last Saturday and Sunday. The operation that the Mujahideen prepared against the military base was a brave risky attack. They decided to launch the attack from a very close position not more than 500 away from the base after the Ishaa’ Prayer on Saturday. When they arrived at the closest position to the base, the Mujahideen started firing on the base with light artillery and a few heavy weapons that reached the base. The base was covered by artillery that was focussed on the barracks of the soldiers and the Headquarter as well as the ammunition dumps. In this operation more than 10 US soldiers were killed who belonged to Unit 82. Moreover two military transporters were destroyed that were close to the ammunition dump. After the escalation of fire in the base, the Mujahideen withdrew with their light weapons leaving the battlefield according to the prepared plan of attack. After one hour of the operation the Americans started to search for the Mujahideen. So the American forces encircled a near village to whose direction the Mujahideen had left.
However the Mujahideen had expected this move by the Americans, and prepared a surprise attack for them. So when the village was surrounded by the American forces, the Mujahideen started firing once again against the US soldiers from different positions in the village which forced the enemy to withdraw a bit and enabled the Mujahideen to leave the village safely.
As for the second attack on the base: In the following night the Mujahideen fired 30 rockets from Hawn rocket launchers. In fact, most of the rockets landed onto the area of the base. The Mujahideen learned about 4 US casualties and 6 killed Afghan agents besides some military vehicles were hit and a food warehouse burned down. After that the Americans located the places from which the rockets were launched, so some of their units left to encounter the Mujahideen. Yet the Mujahideen had already approached the base and after the American forces left, they encountered them in a sudden attack when the Americans came close to the trap that was located about 200 metres away from the base.
The Mujahideen evaluate the numbers of casualties in the ranks of the crusaders in this trap to 20 killed US soldiers.
The US military spokesman, Roger King, issued that his forces were involved in a fire exchange with hostile forces in Dahrawad twice and that his forces asked for air support in one of these incidents. However he stated there were no casualties on both sides.
The Mujahideen are still waiting for the evaluation of the exact numbers of US casualties from these two attacks as the attempt to get the exact casualty numbers failed due to the decision of the Americans to prevent loyal Afghan forces from entering the base as they see that all Afghans are now working for the Mujahideen regardless of how much they pretend to be loyal and were checked by the leaders of the agents.
In this operation 3 Mujahideen were martyred – we ask Allah to accept them – and their corpses were taken out of the battlefield. The reason for the killing was the heavy arbitrary bombardment by US planes which accompanied the last operation. This brave operation is considered to be the first one of this kind against US military bases as it includes traditional fighting techniques, in contrast to previous attacks that relied on a quick traps or immediate hit and run techniques. This development came after the Mujahideen learned how the Americans fight in an open battle and in close positions that increases the fear in their ranks.
