Again, from Drudge:
Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Terry McAuliffe has issued the following statement: "The tactics
being used around the country to intimidate voters and suppress voter turnout are nothing less than despicable.
"We have seen 'anonymous' fliers displayed in predominantly African American communities in Baltimore, MD, with
an incorrect Election Day date, warning voters to make sure their parking tickets are paid, their rent is not
overdue, and they take care of any outstanding warrants before they go vote."
Does it bother anyone else that the Democratic leadership consistently portrays African Americans as dumb as a bag of hammers? The Democrats obviously believe this to be true. "Tricks" that wouldn't fool a sixth-grader are assumed to have a major influence on the African-American vote. Who the hell would be stupid enough to fall for a fake election date? Or the rest of this crap? What's next? "African American voters kept from voting when Republicans place shiny objects outside polling places to distract them?" No one in the Democratic leadership seems to feel this kind of stuff would be important in largely white neighborhoods.
"A spokesman for the Maryland Republican candidate for Governor Bob Ehrlich was quoted saying their campaign
plans include deploying off-duty police officers as poll watchers on Election Day.
Again, the rather revealing assumption that anyone frightened off by cops or bent on voter fraud must of necessity be a Democratic voter. Why not just admit it in big newspaper headlines: "Democratic Vote Totals Decimated by Anti-Fraud Measures."
"In Hidalgo County, TX a Republican poll monitor for Republican Senate candidate John Cornyn had to be escorted
out of the polling place by law enforcement for harassing senior Hispanic voters and using derogatory language."
Okay, we've got one jerk in Texas, out of tens of thousands. Interesting that McCauliffe is tracking this kind of stuff this closely.
"In New Hampshire, an owner and landlord of several so-called "Section 8" housing developments sent letters
urging his hundreds of elderly and disabled tenants to vote for Republican John Sununu for U.S. Senate, stating
ominously that only through Sununu's efforts were the tenants "assured" that they could "continue to remain in
[their] home."
Wow. Telling consituents that some major government benefit to them will be destroyed if they don't vote for your party. Democrats NEVER, EVER use cheap scare tactics like this.
It would be most instructive to see the actual letter. While McCauliffe obviously wants us to see it as some kind of threat, a letter saying that Sununu would help see that Section 8 funding is continued would be similarly worded.
"Democrats will not stand idly by while Republican operatives try to strip voters of their most basic right. Too
many people have fought and died for the right to vote.
"Mr. President, do not let our election process fall prey to dirty political shenanigans once again. Tell your
Republican party operatives to cease their voter intimidation practices and let Americans exercise their right to
vote free of harassment and intimidation..."
Cripes. When you look up political dirty tricks in the book, there's a picture of a donkey there. Who the hell does McCauliffe think he's kidding? I'm sorry that it's being made a lot more difficult for Democrats to dump their usual load of fraudulent votes into the system. That's not the main line of offense for Democrats any more anyway.
The Democratic Party is going to hurl this election into chaos, contesting ballots, firing lawsuits like a chain gun, and trying to get as many elections dumped into courts as possible. This press release is a deliberate part of the setup, to help give the impression later that millions of mythical Democratic voters somehow never managed to get their vote in, despite voting procedures that chimpanzees could deal with before their first cup of coffee in the morning.
The Democratic buttmonkeys in the media will support them every step of the way. The hope is that they can use the Florida tactics to change any results that don't come out the way they want.
Terry McCauliffe begins the Big Whine...
