Now that the Democrats are on the short end of the Senate, look for Daschle and the rest of his crew to stop smashing Bush's nuts with a ball peen hammer and start calling for "bipartisanism" and "cooperation." This noise was the order of the day before Jeffords made the Big Jump, with deals struck after the 2000 elections to make sure the Democrats had a say in policy and good positions on committees. Once the power shifted, and Daschle was suddenly in charge, "bipartisanism" went straight out the window and the Democrats clamped down on the Senate like an alligator snapper on a two-week-old fish head.

I'm hoping Lott doesn't buy this "can't we all just get along?" crap a second time. I personally think someone else besides Trent Lott might do a better job as Majority Leader.
