Powell is debatably the most powerful black man on the planet - yet he is humble and gracious even when being slurred by other blacks.

Belafonte's ill will is simple and plain jealousy.

Allow me to put it in "Belafonte-speak" for those who might not understand what I am saying:

"You see on the plantation there were good slaves who worked hard, fed their families, sang spirituals and did the work of five lesser men and always had a genuine smile for an approaching child or lady. Then there were the ones who sat on the fence while these hard workers worked, and spat at the ground near their feet and called them "uppity n-g----" and were jealous of their contentedness, work ethic and lack of malice."*

Powell is busting his b--t, living the American dream and viewed as an equal by the world - this busts Belafonte's and others chops.
