Ok, bin Laden may or may not be alive. In the meantime, the war on terrorism continues:

PRAGUE, Czech Republic (CNN) -- Al Qaeda Persian Gulf operations chief Abd Al-Rahim al-Nashiri is in U.S. custody after being captured earlier this month in an undisclosed country, a senior U.S. official traveling with President Bush in Prague confirmed to CNN Thursday.

The official said al-Nashiri is the suspected mastermind of the October 2000 bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen, and is also believed to be a major player in the 1998 embassy bombings in Africa as well as several other plots against U.S. targets and interests.

"He has been of some help in terms of information," the U.S. official said, declining to be more specific.

The White House said it will have no official comment.

Al-Nashiri is the latest pivotal member of al Qaeda to come into U.S. custody since the war on terror began more than a year ago.

Other senior al Qaeda leaders in U.S. hands include Abu Zubaydah and Ramzi Binalshibh. The CIA is holding each in undisclosed locations overseas, according to U.S. officials.
