If you listened to the network news on the radio today, you would think nothing else besides these two issues had been dealt with in the 107th Congress this past year.

The Democrats will make hay out of 39 weeks of unemployment benefits not being extended to 52. My personal opinion is that if you're still living on unemployment after almost 10 months, somebody isn't trying. But then I'm an evil conservative, with no sympathy.

The Democrats will also make hay out of the pollution issue, without of course explaining anything about a complex issue. Current pollution regulations as written actually discourage modernizing plants, and may actually cause more pollution in the long run.

Sounds like the same old songs from the Democrats. January should be interesting, now that the Democrats are out of power and have to revert to "Republicans Are Monsters From Hell" mode.
