Too many in the west are trying to say we are trying to stamp out Islam. Your post clarifies the rights of those seeking freedom of religion and living under state laws.
In Nigeria we see what has been going on in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Afghanistan, Turkey, etc. for ages:
A conflict between Islam and others freedom of religion and the right to a state independent of religious law.
Indonesia is a good example of a Muslim nation that got it right. Where laws exist independently of the Koran and where fundamentalists and militanats are dealt with harshly.
