<*Statistics show that in reality, income levels of enlistees are actually not as bottom-loaded as commonly believed.

Is this for officer-grade and enlisted, or are you definitely talking just enlisted?

I mean, technically, the line lacks reason, simply because the member now serving full time in the military is now earning the income roughly equivalent to the lower-middle to middle class, depending upon thrift with the benefits package (i.e., housing & dependant allowances).

The ground-pounders are generally believed to be of the lower income families, but you do find the exceptions (like me). Once you move away for the Infantry to the support and logistics folks, though, which would have to outnumber the Infantry just to support them, you find another breed of animal.
