I refuse to believe you believe that.

Of course there are folks who believe a communal economic system is the best. There always have been, there always will be. I've read that Jesus lead a communal existence, and the early Christian "churches" were communal.

And there are socialists - people who believe that an equitable distribution of basic needs is, well, equitable.

And what's to be afraid of? Where is the great conspiracy to take away freedom, civil and human rights? It ain't out there.

Right here, in River City, New York and Washington, D. C. On a scale un-dreamed of since the Civil War.

Pogo - "We have met the enemy, and it is us!"

We are giving our civil rights and human rights away, and creating an economic underclass which will devastate the economic system if a way cannot be found to include them. If one must, forget about "them". For our own good we have to find a way to see they perceive themselves as a part of the "system".

Is it right, or wrong? I dunno, I just know that society as we have known it is under a far more effective attack from the right-wing fundamentalists than it ever was from "communists".
