A rebuilt Afghanistan

These abuses are now considered aberrations in Afghanistan, instead of the official operating policy of the national government. And more importantly, there are no longer entire towns devoted to training terrorists. I call that at least some improvement.

The United States occupied Japan in 1945, and ended that occupation in 1952, leaving behind an independent, prospering, and democratic Japan. Whether we can manage that again is arguable, but Rome, or any other nation, wasn't built in a day.
