I am thunderstruck by how many people still blame sanctions for the problems of the people of Iraq, when somehow Saddam seems to have all the cash he needs for armies, weapons programs, and palace after palace after palace.

Just out of curiosity, where were all these people worrying about South Africa when the world imposed sanctions on that nation? Oh, I'm sure there's a leftist song and dance as to why sanctions were the height of morality in one case, and an abomination against humanity in the other. I'd LOVE to hear it.
