What their not all suicide bombers and Intifada?
Some interesting insights.
Another batch of stories you might've overlooked:
This was one of the issues discussed in Cheney's secret energy meetings
Yes this administration is not just pro-oil, they are pro-energy ...oh yeah big time.
The fusion route is a mistake IMHO simply because the relationship and containment function of the sun is not reproducable here. Much better to focus upon developing a reclamation technique for control rods and radiation reduction technologies.
Cost wise it makes far more sense to retrofit and expand current facilities into self-sustaining powerbases than to waste those billions on projects that may waste decades of time while our operating reactors and their corporate owners keep asking for legislation to allow higher and higher densities of control rod storage and containment. (which is very unsafe and unintelligent.)
New nuclear techniques need to be explored. More research needs to be put into other ways of tapping atomic energy besides fission and fusion. I personally am excited about a conceptual stage process called "Atomic Excitation" - lining up atoms coherently pulsing a charge through special elements - and manipulating their fields to produce a greater collective field energy, similar to a magnet, inducing some of this same dimensional transfer from mass to energy - which is the big ticket.
These coherent excited atomic fields should be able to be used for power generation.
They should also be completely waste-free. Research needs to be conducted and funded to help explore these less-toxic, less expensive and novel concepts.

Sounds good to me.
The Kissinger Selection
And some folks call Bush dumb. Looks like he has political genius to make Clinton look like he was from...well... Arkansas.
