This spring, a whole bunch of kids like these are coming to Houston
For the FIRST Robotics National Competition.

There will be thousands of kids who ahve spent the prior months from early Januar on trying to optimally build and compete robots per Dean Kamen's specs for 2003.
And they change significantly yearly.
Worldwide, it has grown to 20,000 kids.
This will be my son's third year.
He is now a mentor to his team and has certainly gotten a whole lot out of it, in many ways and not just the technical challenge.
