Lott's just the first

<...Trent brought his very own stick of dynamite to the birthday party and lit it himself with the candles on the birthday cake.

True, and the Democrats have gotten together and sentenced him to death for it. So have a lot of Republicans. I don't know how many people cruise the conservative web sites like I do, but the list calling for him to step down includes Peggy Noonan, of course, Andrew Sullivan (vehemently), the Wall Street Journal, The National Review, and others.

Only Republicans wring their hands with guilt over things like this. When have Democrats ever turned on one of their own who has come up rotten? And a lot more rotten than Lott in some cases, even in regards to race.

An exercise for the student: list the prominent Democrats and major newspapers who publicly called for Clinton to resign after he was impeached.

SDAI's right. If he steps down he will be admitting that he is a racist, or at least that's what they'll say. The New York Times, the Supreme Buttmonkey of the Democrats, is already pouring out editorials plopping white sheets onto everyone in the Republican Party. This is typical. So is this.

You know why, too.

The black voters didn't jump very high in the last election when the Democrats cracked their usual whip. Black people were starting to ask uncomfortable questions, along the lines of, "what have the Democrats REALLY done for us lately?" and "does it seem like we're being taken for granted, here?"

Not good. Better stir up the old fears again. So away we go with the Race Card.

You can be damn sure the Democrats are going to see that African-Americans turn out in big numbers and with blind hatred of the Republicans next election.
