We used to sneer at soldiers who went into combat loaded on drugs. We wouldn't allow it with our folks, knew it happened.

We used to accuse the enemy of drugging their people in order to get them to attack. It was great propaganda. We believed the poor bastards were sometimes “smoked up” in order to force them to do their jobs. (We learned that was rare, too, if it happened.)

It turns out that American pilots are REQUIREDto be drugged up when flying into Afghanistan.

Now, these aren’t drugs to be used in case of emergency. That's understandable. As reported on ABC they are required to take ‘em on patrol, or face derog fitness reports.

My America. Tragic.

AND, it’s no excuse for “friendly fire” incidents.
