The Charles De Gaulle
The french aircraft carrier "Charles De Gaulle" is being presented in a show broadcast, by Michel Drucker, the most famous and long lasting french TV showman.
We learn the pilots go through 4-5 G's when they are catapulted (the Super-Etendards are the evening's heroes, with the Hawkeye).
The pilot explains that during take-off, he doens 't touch the instruments.
I saw a night landing (infrared pictures) and the way the tailhook catches the cable (10 cm above the ground).
2 and a half hours, uninterrupted by commercial breaks.
