Sharpton hasn't got a ghost of a chance of getting the Democratic nomination. But Democrats have to mollify their black constituency, so they can't just toss him out the door. An independent Sharpton candidacy could siphon off a lot of black votes. I would guess Democrats in Washington wish he would just go away, or go back to dissing Republicans for the Democrats.
