Those congressional perks aren't going away regardless of how many letters we might write. They've been around and increased for generations. They aren't going away.
Does anyone honestly believe that a letter writing campaign will cause members of Congress to give up cars and drivers for the senior leadership?
How about the franking privilege (free mass mailing) often used in their reelection campaigns?
How about their subsidized haircuts and meals on Capital Hill?
How about the free use of on location TV studios to record "messages" for the little people back home, also used a great deal in their reelection campaigns?
How about their private parking lots at DC area airports?
Or their separate retirement system? If Social Security isn't good enough for them, why is it good enough for us?
Or their free (or almost free) medical care at Bethesda Naval Hospital and Walter Reed Army Hospital (conveniently the best military hospitals anywhere and also conveniently located in the DC area)?
If someone believes they'll give up any of their perks, then I have some Colorado swampland to sell for a very reasonable price.
