Jeez, his yearly out of pocket doctor bills likely exceed that amount.
What is with this class warfare thing? What you earn or what you have (or have not) does not define you - unless you let it.
Listening to you, Lindy and Publius, one would think that people with money are immediately devilish, evil-scum of the earth, rotten, no-good, lousy, pernicious, baby-eating, double-dipping money-grabbers.
What social services have been shut down? Who have George and Laura pushed out into the street by proposing these tax cuts and credits? What new class of homeless have they created? Whose money are they supposedly stealing?
Tax cuts are not like winning the lottery - it just means people get to keep more of their own money.
Bush knows exactly what he's doing - this will spur the stock market and get the IPO's kicking again by late summer. The tax windfall to the government when the stock market comes alive cured the last deficit - it can do it again.
And you still think it’s a good deal. Don’t you know how hard they laugh at the little True Believers? The suckers?
To paraphrase Tom...Criminy-Cripes and Holy Kamoly!
There's a little unresolved hostility here don't ya think? Who exactly is "they?"
Are they, Bush and Cheney, the "they" who are laughing at the "true believers," the "suckers?"
Are all the "rich" people laughing? If so define "rich." The democrats always talk about the rich but never define who exactly is so evil. Is it the soccer mom who works as a secretary with her husband who works as a trashman and pull in a combined 80k a year?
Is it the check out clerk with seniority at the grocery who pulls in 50k a year and has been working for five years? Is she the evil "rich" person you begrudge keeping more of her money?
Some people are so blinded with class envy and jealousy they have built up neurotic delusions about who is "laughing" at them and how the "rich" are somehow scr--ing them out of their fair share some how.
That sort of attitude wont take one far. It's always better to focus upon one's own affairs instead of begrudging one's neighbors or fellow citizens, theirs.
It's really sad.
