And you know, nobody is considering the "pat them on the head, feed them and take care of them" paternalism of the Democratic Party, which is also racism. Reminds me more than anything of the "good" slaveholders. Not the Simon Legrees, but the Mr. Shelbys, who honestly couldn't imagine how blacks would be able to get along without being cared for by better and wiser men.
