Not to put too fine a point on it, but Harris won a legitimate election, in a state of free voters of both parties, in the face of an all-out political attack by the opposition, and by a pretty good margin--despite some rather pathetic post-election Democratic attempts to convince people that somehow the election had been "cooked."
Daddy Elian is participating in an "election" where he is the only candidate on the ballot, and the voters are frightened peons of a totalitarian state.
