The point here is that our media have given the impression that all of Venezuela is calling for Chavez's ouster, and that is simply untrue.
Recall that it was popular support, ie the people took to the streets, which brought the deposed president back after only a day or two.
The "general strike" is being led by the media, big busines and big oil. Those interests represent only a small fraction of the population.
