The entire interview was basically a farce from the first. If Jennings was properly skeptical, he wouldn't have done the interview in the first place. Jennings couldn't ask anything that would get any kind of a useful answer. Maybe he hoped the guy would crack and show Jennings the nuclear warhead hidden in the privy before Saddam blew the scientist's brains out.
