We got a memory foam bed a few years back when my wife had back surgeries.

It's great. We also coughed up for motorized head and foot adjustability (like a hospital bed) so she could sleep in one position all night comfortably. Her back is better now, but she wouldn't give up the adjustable bed for anything.

Important hint: Buy two twin adjustables and put them side by side. Avoids bed adjustment conflicts. You can still use king-size quilts and top sheets.

As for the rest, some of us are adaptable.
