I don't think Hamas, Fatah, or anyone else, except the variuos Islamic Jihad groups and bin Laden, has attacked the US or US assets abroad. The others attack Israel, and Israel could have avoided these attacks entirely by either honoring the Camp David Accords or the Oslo agreement. Israel did neither.
There is a big difference between being in a country and active support from that country's government. For example, al Qaeda operated in Florida and Virginia. Do we take out Gov. Bush or Gov. Warner?
All this is not to say that there may be ties between bin Laden and al Qaeda and Saddam, but they have yet to be demonstrated in any manner. Also, there are sufficient reasons for ousting Saddam which have nothing to do with these allegations of al Qaeda ties.
By the way, if Israel had honored any of its earlier agreements with other nations as regards the Palestinians, neither we nor they would be in this mess today.
