It seems there's a pattern to recent French behavior
There's their blatant sucking up to Saddam, a murderous dictator responsible for around a million deaths. How else can you describe their opposition to deposing a mass murderer?
Then there's their Invitation to Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe despite the EU-nuck travel ban.

It seems France is sucking up to a lot of dictators lately. Perhaps they're trying for membership in the Axis of Just as Evil instead of being relegated to the Axis of Weasels.
Perhaps "Ol Europe" is getting Alzheimer's or perhaps the old coots never were very bright to begin with.
