This is especially directed to Raoul, and to the post he replied to that I have lost.

My reference was not to the attacks the French made against the English and the English retaliation by sinking two French battleships that you posted.

My reference was directed to the campaign commanded by Dwight Eisenhower when he was only a two star field commander.

This was his disasterous conflict at Casablanca in 1942 against (I think) Admiral Dalan in which the French killed American troops to uphold French honor. After all, the French had agreed to support Germany in return for the Germans not destroying the buildings in Paris.

And still the allies let a French battalion lead the entry into Paris so the French could maintain the illusion that the home boys had liberated their own country.

To the Americans that were killed under Eisenhower's command I say, Tu n'es pas oublie.

War is never nice, always a tragedy, and always a failure of the political process.
