Because there are those who only support freedom-of-speech when it suits their needs. These are usually the ones who scream the loudest when they feel ‘their’ freedom of speech has been violated. But they have no problem telling others to shut up when they don’t like what they are hearing.

I do respect the Liberals who will, for example, let the Klan march despite their dislike for that group. They understand that the Klan has just as much right to march as Jessie Jackson does. (I personally think both groups should shut up and keep their racists remarks to themselves. I would have no problem censoring the KKK or Jesse Jackson).
