I have to agree with almost everything you've said here, but I'm just wondering how it is that you "...know Saddam is a madman?"
There's no doubt that the Iraqi didcator is a ruthless, murderous, cunning leader, but that doesn't necessarily make him a madman, and I've seen no such diagnosis from any qualified psychiatrist.
Just in the interests of precision.
