If you wondered whatever happened to the founders of Berkeley Systems, creators (or at least swipers) of the famous Flying Toasters and other screensavers and games, wonder no longer. Apparently they have been big in the anti-war internet movement, according to an article in the paper today.

The site, Moveon.org, was originally founded to encourage America to get past Clinton's mistakes and misbehavior and get on with America's business, which is a hoot coming from the same people who are still picking Lott's veins out of their teeth. An earlier site, 9-11Peace.org (since renamed) was intended to oppose attacking Afghanistan after 9-11, which kind of makes the current "why attack someone who hasn't attacked us?" line a little suspicious.

It's current claim to fame is the reworked Daisy Ad, but no doubt they have a lot more in their quiver.

Although supported by donations to some extent, I'm sure life is made a lot easier due to the founders having sold Berkeley Systems at the height of the dot.com bubble, before it all collapsed. Apparently selling for millions just before the big bust is a GOOD THING if your political heart is in the right place.

From the newspaper article, and apparently said with a completely straight face:

Blades described Moveon.org as "bipartisan and issue-focused," though she acknowledged that most members are Democrats.
