In this UPI article posted on Rense. com, "CIA veterans have warned the Bush administration not to go to war against Iraq, saying that doing so would further widen the divide between the Western and Islamic worlds and increase the incidence of terrorism.
"In a statement sent to media organizations earlier this week, the retired CIA officials also referred to an agency assessment report last fall, which, they said, opposed a military offensive against Iraq."

It is only the hotheads and chickenhawks who want war. Military and intelligence agency veterans who have "been there" know better, and urge caution.
As the article notes, military action against Iraq is more likely to make the situation much worse, rather than better, which is why cooler, better informed, more level heads are almost unanimous in their oppostion to this reckless warmongering by the Bush administration.
Careful readers will also note that the CIA vets stated "...that the Arab-Israel conflict was among "the root causes not only of terrorism" but also provided Saddam Hussein with an excuse to arm himself."
Of course, if you're pursuing a "strategy of tension" maybe that's exactly what you want.
