I heard a story that the Germans sold the Iraqis a fair number of advanced tunnel boring machines. The story goes on that the Iraqis have constructed huge underground caverns over innocuous sites like cement factories, etc. Supposably the Iraqis have been doing their WMD development activity in these caverns.

This tale has a whiff of urban legend about it. It will be interesting after the "dust has settled" to see what pops up in Iraq along the lines of hidden military sites. If the Krauts/Frogs have been in bed with the Iraqis then we'll have to reevaluate our relationship with them.
