Waiting with bated breath for the solution

<There are ways to contain dangerous people.

How?

If you had ANY idea on how many DANGEROUS people there are out there with access to weapons, you might want to put your energies out there tracking them down, rather than focusing your fears and hatred on one megalomaniac.

We can dis-empower him without bringing down his city and killing thousands of civilians and children. And we don't have to endanger our troops and bankrupt our country.

HOW??

And we don't have to put our alliances with other neutral counties in jeopardy.
Really SDAI, war with Iraq won't SOLVE any of our problems.

I have thrown this challenge out more than a dozen times, in many different arenas, and have gotten basically jack shit back.

There are "ways?" WHAT ways? How do you propose to DO this? How do you propose to bring Saddam in? If you've got a method for painlessly separating him from the nation if Iraq without force, please enlighten us. You are right--it would save a lot of lives and money.

If you've got an answer, let us know. And if the magical mantra "inspections!" begins to escape your lips, sit down quietly until the urge goes away. And we already know how well "sanctions" work.

We went through all this with bin Laden, with people complaining about how we were using military force in Afghanistan, when all we wanted was to find and apprehend the leaders and their thugs. How do we do that? Reply hazy. Ask again later.

As far as dead civilians go, the entire Afhan campaign has resulted to date in the deaths of about 3,500 innocent Afghans from the war effort. While nothing to be proud of, this is minuscule compared to almost any other war you can name. This is, of course, no valid indicator of what the casualties in an Iraq war might be, especially considering Saddam's enthusiasm for placing civilians in war zones, but this number is about two percent of the number of Iraqis that Saddam has killed for political reasons up to now, not including those killed in various wars.
