I'm proud to be a product of a french speaking anglophile Belgian father and an American mother and living in the flemish side of the country.
It gives access to all kinds of points of views and languages and also to a general appeasement mood, between 2 struggling cultures.
But it's true we don't have "Patriotic feelings" over here.
After all, Belgium was created (with Holland) in 1815 at the Vienna Congress to serve as a buffer state between France, England and Germany, but it's really was meant as a battlefield zone away from those three countries.
We live in a country with 3 separate powers: the executive, the legislative and the judiciary.
Sometimes, the judiciary power can be an embarassment to the 2 other ones.
That's what independance is about, after all.
Raoul (sometimes, a message shows more who someone is than what the message is about).
