A better model
Are you arguing that since the Soviets invaded Afghanistan, it's now permissible for the United States to invade Iraq?
I would surely hope that my nation would find a better model upon which to base its behavior.
In any event, the language of the UN Declaration seems quite clear; it specifically forbids the use or threats of force, and notes that it is the duty of states to refrain from propaganda for wars of aggression.
