What was minor about it?
Did any of the protestors actually come out against the brutal rule of Saddam? Did any of them call for him to disarm? Did you see any "Liberate Iraq" signs?
The unfortunate and unintended consequence of the protests is that Saddam will be less likely to give up power willingly. That makes war more, not less likely.
I have no doubt that the vast majority of the protestors actually meant well. I also have no doubt that they're horribly misguided and naive. Time will tell.
